Web-based applications have great potential to open up learning opportunities for people with certain physical and cognitive disabilities. However, as the prevalence of online learning continues to rise, so do concerns regarding accessibility.

Oftentimes, accessibility components are retrofitted into online assessment solutions. But when WCAG accessibility becomes an inherent requirement of a testing system, the benefits for usability and maintenance are clear. In this presentation, we discuss taking this theoretical approach to native accessibility in online assessment and how we’ve built a framework that puts it into practice.
